Process Statement
In making his photographs, Eduardo vacillates between depicting fragments of the everyday and creating fictions through the use of sequence. Influenced by personal narratives of diaspora, familial deprivation and collective misperceptions of the American dream, he seeks out the borderlands that exist in every town, state, country—the margins where people make their lives. It is here that he revels in his own displacement and where he feels most at home.

 

 

Eduardo (b.1989) is a photographic artist from Phoenix, AZ. He received a M.F.A in Photography from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design and a B.F.A in Photography from Arizona State University. His work has been featured in various print publications such as the Financial Times magazine and Aint-Bad magazine. He is a recipient of several institutional grants and independent scholarships, one of which allowed him to travel to Rio De Janeiro, Brazil where he was an artist in residence. His work has been exhibited nationally including the Photographic Resource Center at Boston University, The Center for Fine Art Photography, the Philadelphia Photo Arts Center and the Tucson Museum of Art. He recently self published his first monograph titled Almost Out Of Sky. Eduardo currently lives and works in Boston.
